Driving directions:Chobienia lies 30 km south-east of Głogów. As to reach it you should from the place Rudna drive down the road no 292 for Chobienia. There you must drive straight down the main road, drive past the left turn to the ferry and turn into the next road to the left. After making that move on the right side among the trees it is already visible the castle, while after covering the next 100m you arrive in the parking lot, from which the path leads up to the ruins.
Historical outline:A former name: Köben an der Oder
A first defensive building in Chobienia appeared in historical records in 1209. Probably it concerned the borough, at the place of which in the XIVth cent. a brick castle was raised. That castle was transformed into a palace in 1583, and then rebuilt in the XVIIIth cent. and in 1905. The structure was demolished in 1945 and since then it has remained in ruin.
