Driving directions:
Kąty Wrocławskie lies 25km south-west of Wrocław. If you enter it from the south down the road no 346 from Oława for Środa Śląska, you have to turn into the first road to the right beyond the board with the name of the place. Next driving straight ahead you pass the playing field on the right side and at the end of the road there is a community center. Beyond it there is a post-castle area.
Historical outline:
Former name: Kanth
The first mention of the castle in Kąty Wrocławskie originates from 1297 and informs that the owner of the castle was the duke of Świdnica-Jawor, Bolko I. The stronghold was demolished in 1475 and 1497 but it was rebuilt so effectively that it resisted to incursion of the duke of Ziębice, Bartłomiej in 1512. The fate of the castle was sealed by the fire in 1624 consuming the building which was never reconstructed again. The remainders of the stronghold were dismantled in 1829, and a few dozen years later in its place the brewery was put up (currently not existing), the construction of which effectively deprived us the chance of learning the history of the castle.
