Historical outline:
A defensive manor in Bąkowa Góra sprang into existence in the XVth cent. at the place of an earlier wooden building. Building of a manor is ascribed to Zbigniew Bąk of Zadora coat of arms, who was the son of one of the most confidential courtiers of Władysław Jagiełło – Zbigniew Bąk senior. After the death of Zbigniew junior in 1489 the manor began changing its hands and that process lasted until the XVIIIth cent., when the building was abandoned ultimately. A decaying manor was additionally damaged in the 20’s of the XXth cent. by the then owners – the Potocki family, who were searching for a hypothetical treasure hidden in the dungeons of the manor. At present the monument is a private property.
