Driving directions:Świecie of the Lower Silesia lies right by the border with the Czech Republic. You may arrive in there heading from Leśna, down the road no 358 to Pobiedna. On the way you drive through Świecie, in which it is enough to follow the main road, by which the castle stands.
Historical outline:A former name: Schwertburg
The stronghold in Świecie sprang into existence probably in the first quarter of the XIVth cent. on the initiative of a duke of Świdnica – Jawor, Bernard. Its further fate is, however little known. The castle was rebuilt in 1527 and again in the first half of the XVIIIth cent. After 1827 the building began falling into ruin and was only partly utilized (e.g. as inn in an interwar period). After the World War II the castle left to its fate was decaying more and more.
