Wojcieszów

State of preservation:		Only not big fragments of ground walls have remained of the castle
Admission:		Entry to the ruin area is free of charge
Parking:		There is no parking lot in the neighborhood
Searching difficulty:		Finding that castle is a real "mission impossible". It is hidden far off the main road, deep in the fields, majority of inhabitants did not hear anything of any castle, and those ones who associate a bit, indicate the way to the ruins of gallows. What is more, in local forests there was also a knightly watchtower, of which a few persons heard something, but no one knows its situation.
Access difficulty:		In order to reach the castle you would not become exhausted
Subjective rating:		Ruins are very ugly, but additional star for location

Driving directions:

You need to take the road no 3 from Jelenia Góra towards Wrocław and in Kaczorów turn left into the road no 328 to Wojciechów. In a town center you have to drive straight ahead down the main road all the time until you go past two churches standing directly opposite each other on both sides of the main road. Then you must turn into the first road on the left (BEFORE the palace) and drive straight on along a white, rocky road into the forest. Behind the last house a lane to the forest, which you ought to go past, branches off to the right and on traveling about 300 m turn right into the next forest lane (if you have reached railroad track, you would be too far away). Walk straight ahead down the forest path around 200 m and the walls and the notice board from the picture no 5 would be visible on the left side by the road. The walls are located on the hilltop called Młynica.
A mentioned knightly watchtower is to be found in the forest, on the hill ahead of a town, approximately 400 m beyond the dam.

Former name: Nieder Kauffung

The castle in Wojcieszów was probably raised in the Middle Ages, nonetheless nothing more is known about it. Its founder, date of its construction are unknown, it does not appear in any historical sources, it was not an object of research too.
