Wolibórz (Garncarz Mountain)

State of preservation:		Solely single scattered stones on Garncarz Mountain have remained of the castle
Admission:		Entry to post-castle area is free of charge
Parking:		There is no parking lot nearby
Searching difficulty:		Finding this place is very tough. It is concealed in the woods, on the mountain and only one resident of Wolibórz knows that there was a castle
Access difficulty:		Access to the post-castle site is easy. The road leads through a flat, uneven though terrain and only last 100m demands climbing up not a large hill.

Driving directions:

Driving from Nowa Ruda to Ząbkowice Śląskie along the road no 385 you cross Wolibórz. There you have to turn left into the road no 384 for Bielawa, next driving straight ahead start approaching the pass. At the first tight turn to the left (marked with a sign |<<<<|) the road 384 is crossed by a forest vista on a slant. After walking around 400 m, at the intersection of 5 roads you have to go straight ahead and after next 600 m you approach the following crossroads. At this spot you have to turn on all your senses of direction or GPS device. If you imagine a junction on the watch face, it would look as follows: the main road, down which you have come (hour 6), takes a turn at an angle of 90 degrees toward hour 9. At the hour 1 the path runs downhill, while at the hour 3 diverges a fourth path. To make it "easier" you cannot choose any of them. In order to reach the summit of Garncarz Mountain, and thereby a post-castle site, you should take a shortcut, up the hill in the direction of an hour 2. You need not to be, however, influenced by the name of the place – the mountain is that not a big mound there situated between two paths.

Historical outline:

There is nothing known about the local castle in practice. It was probably demolished in the XVth cent., since allegedly knights-brigands had their residence there. Yet a few dozen of years ago there could be found fragments of groundwork, however at present only single stones have been left.
