Historical outline:
A former name: Wittgendorf
A knight’s residential tower in Witków emerged in the XIVth cent. In the middle of postwar research a XVth century polychromies presenting a wedding of Nikel von Warmsdorf, the then owner of the stronghold, were discovered. In the XVIIth cent. to the tower was annexed a lower building, in which probably there was a kitchen. In the years of 1978-1984 the monument was an object of research, which was not completed. Subsequently it became the seat of research station of the Archeological Museum of the Middle Upper Oder. Apparently it fulfills that function up to this day, but already in 2006 the building looked abandoned.
