Historical outline:
In the XVIth cent. Łodygowice belonged to the Komorowskis of the Korczak coat of arms. In 1608 the then owner of the lands – Mikołaj Komorowski - lost the estate in the game of cards with his courtier. Then he sold it to the Castellan of Cracow, Jerzy Zbaraski, who began the conversion of the wooden manor into the brick defensive mansion. After the death of Zbaraski, his son-in-law finished the modernization, as well as provided the building with the bastion fortifications. In the XIXth cent. the manor was heavily rebuilt and the fortifications were dismantled.
