Driving directions:Złoty Stok lies 25 km east of Kłodzko, from where you reach there down the road no 46. Unfortunately, it failed to locate a post-castle site therefore there arises no possibility of giving information on precise access.
Historical outline:Former name: Reichenstein
Matter of castle’s existence in Złoty Stok was not utterly explained. The first reference to the village appeared in sources from the end of the XIIIth cent., and its first owner was Eberhard von Reichenstein. In the middle of the XIVth cent. the locality came into hands of family von Haugwitz who derived profits from the local gold mine.
A print from 1750 presents a few-story building with corner turrets on the outskirts of the town, whereas during excavations in the town area, in the Wolności 10 St. the remainders of stony basements, which were deemed castle’s, were discovered. It is unknown whether the building from the print and remainders of basements belong to the same structure, or even if there ever existed the castle in Złoty Stok.
