Historical outline:
A former name: Peterwitz
The castle in Stoszowice was not the subject of detailed research therefore its history is practically unknown. It is unknown who and when built the castle. Perhaps these were Stosz and Leonard of the Stosz family who were the owners of the village in the years of 1221-1227 or Paszko Stoszowic, the subsequent owner of the place. It is only known that in the XVIth cent. the building was the residence of starosts and commune heads. A present appearance of the castle originates from the XVIth and the XVIIth cent., modernized then in the XVIIIth and the XIXth cent. But in the years of 1820-1945 the building belonged to the family of Strachwitz.
