Driving directions:
The easiest way to reach Stolec is from Ząbkowice Śląskie. To this end it is necessary to drive down the Ziębicka St. from the market square of the latter into the road no 385 towards Ziębice. After 6 km you enter Stolec, where you must turn left to Skieroszów and before the house no 106 turn right into a road of concrete slabs. In a moment you will come to the next turn, this time drive to the left at the junction and along gravel path you will arrive at the palace.
Historical outline:
History of the building in Stolec is very tangled. Originally there allegedly existed the castle built in the XIIIth or XIVth cent. The stronghold was destroyed during Hussite Wars in the XVth cent. The ruins of the castle were disassembled in the XVIIIth cent., and in its place was put up the palace. It did not stand at this site for a long time as a loose ground bred falling the building apart. Thereby in 1772 the decision on disassembly of the palace was taken. In later years either through more modern building materials or as some sources hold, thanks to stabilization of the ground, the consecutive palace was constructed in the same place. Next it was rebuilt in the XIXth cent. has remained in heavily ruined form until today.
