Driving from Chocianów down the road no 328 to Chojnów you ought to turn right to Bolesławiec just beyond the town. Subsequently drive down the main road all the way along through the forest and at the Y-shaped crossroads turn left into an asphalt road into the forest. In the village Modła you have to drive all the time down the main road and after you overcome sharp turn to the right you arrive at the junction, at which it is necessary to turn left. Then drive straight on and after you approach the next tight turn to the right, directly opposite beyond enclosure there is thicket where sought walls are situated.
Historical outline:
The castle in Modła was built by Mikołaj Bibran in the years of 1564-1567. The consecutive owners of the castle, the family of Ritterg, in 1767 undertook the conversion combined with the extension of the structure. The following reconstruction took place in 1869 whereas in 1945 the castle was demolished and only ground walls have been left of it till today.
