Driving directions:Byczyna lies right by the border of the Opolski and Łódz Provinces. The easiest way to reach it is to set out from Kluczbork down the road no 11 towards Kępno. After covering about 17 km you arrive in Byczyna, where in the center the town walls may be found.
Be careful! In Byczyna knight’s tournaments are held very frequently. However, after reaching the town it is futile to look for knights and their camps. It occurs that way because these kinds of events took place in a wooden borough built south-west of the town. In order to arrive in there, you have to move back down the road no 11 in the direction of Kluczbork, and next turn right, into the Łazarza St. and drive for Polanowice. There turn left and drive straight ahead all the way long, down worse and worse - quality roads as far as the borough.
Historical outline:Defensive walls were put up in Byczyna in the XIVth and the XVth cent. and up to this day they have survived almost entirely. In a line of the walls, up to our times have survived 3 towers: Piast, Polish and German.
