Driving directions:Driving from Kalisz to Września down the road no 442 you drive through Chocz. In Chocz Market Square the main road turns sharply to the right and at that place, before an old cloister visible in the picture no 3, a side road diverges left. You ought to turn into that road (the Staszica St.) and drive down it to the end, as far as the church. By it stands the building, which is the castle.
Historical outline:Researchers ascribe the construction of the castle in Chocz to Kazimierz Wielki. However, the castle was never completed – only house was built, which in 1382 was captured by Bartosz Wezenborg. Through the next centuries Chocz was the property of many families, as to become the property of the Lipski family at the start of the XVIIth cent. In 1623 Andrzej Lipski built a brick church in Chocz, which is standing until today. Whereas a nearby presbytery is regarded as that medieval castle house.
