Driving directions:Driving from Bogatynia down the road no 352 towards Zgorzelec, after covering about 6 km you need to turn left into the road no 354 towards Sieniawka/Zittau. Next drive straight on and beyond Turoszów power plant turn from the main road to the right (the road no 354 goes to the left). Driving straight further you reach the intersection of 4 roads, of which that one most on the right is covered with sett and branches off upward at sharp angle. You have to select exactly that one and keep driving along it over the power plant. Later drive straight ahead all the time and in the fields at the crossroads you should turn left into an asphalt road. When you reach the very top (the Rolnicza St.) down it, at the crossroads you must drive straight into a very narrow, ballast lane, which resembles the drive to some estate. Then drive along it straight ahead (steeply downhill at first, next steeply uphill) as far as the forest. There it is necessary to park the car in the clearing and go straight into the brushwood, where you will encounter the walls of the castle.
Historical outline:Former name: Rohnau
First mentions of Wronów Castle come from 1262. Maybe it was made of brick already then and belonged to the Oppal family. Similarly to case of other strongholds, that one was also changing hands frequently. Already in 1399 the castle was conquered and destroyed by burghs from Żytawa. Since then it has never regained its splendor again.
